Magazine Cover Review
Looking into these magazines made me realize there is way much more than just merging words and pictures for a magazine. All these different magazines are so similar yet different in their own ways and that really made me look at them with a different perspective. “Cosmopolitan”, a magazine that targets young woman is trying to be the readers “Big Sister”. There is usually a White Thin woman for the cover picture with big bold lettering. On this specific magazine that we covered; the magazine was all about Joey king. In the magazine they had the titles where she appeared to be big and bold. For me I viewed this as she plays an important in this magazine so that’s why she gets her titles big and bold.” Vogue”, another magazine that we reviewed targets fashionistas. The people who read vogue most likely has money to spend especially on clothes. The magazine includes lots of high-end fashion for every season and high-end brands. So, I see this magazine to be more on the high end for the rich or even for the people who are into fashion. ” Better Home and Gardening”, this magazine targets stay at home moms or for the people who enjoy crafts. This magazine is good for the people who are looking into craft making. Stay at home moms are known for making Halloween costumes themselves and since Halloween is coming up, the magazine has a while section for them! ”Menshealth”. This magazine is targeting men. In their cover their choose of the background primarily includes red and black. This is a command trend that I see in majority magazines where their choose of the background or even lettering is red and black. They also include a fit black man for the cover. In the magazine “Rolling Stones”, it is mainly about music. What I found interesting is that, in the cover page they were talking about politics. The reason that they did is to attract other that might be more interested in politics than music. “Trump Plots Against America”. There cover picture was all about Lil Baby’s uprising. They took a picture of Lil Baby (a famous rapper) who was standing on a brick wall in an angle that make him look bigger than the building, this make sense since they were talking about his “uprising”. In “Chances are you won't bother to read this article. It is just one long block of text, after all, unbroken by alluring pictures, snappy captions, or eye-grabbing info graphics. You can't click it. You can't flip it. All you can do is read it. (Does Size Matter?)” it says, “The magazine-reading future, in other words, will be bite-sized". This for me means the future is changing and everyone attention span is getting smaller and smaller. Since this is happening, I would rather make a video for the people who view it would be more interested. Not only that but the article also says that, “There is little evidence to suggest increased television viewership is killing off reading.”. little by little this is affecting the way people are wanting to read.
